Anti-Spam Feature

MX Logic's Stacked Classification Framework^SM aggregates several filtering techniques including;

• Bayesian-Statistical algorithms identify and quantify the possibility that an email message is spam.
• Heuristics-Thousands of proprietary rules of thumb recognize characteristics of spam.
• Distributed Checksum Clearinghouses-Takes a checksum, or fingerprint, of all email messages it sees, and places those fingerprints in a database. If the database recognizes a large number of exact matches or at least very similar fingerprints, then those fingerprints are likely to indicate spam.
• Domain and End User Level Black and White Lists-Maintained by users, these customized lists detail sites, individuals or IP addresses from which mail is and is not allowed.

Each of the five filters dynamically calculates the spam probability of every message. Through an aggregation and analysis of these spam-likelihood scores, our patent-pending, multi-layered spam detection system provides extremely effective blocking of spam.

Content and Attachment Filtering

Automatically filter and quarantine inappropriate content and attachments before they enter your customer's servers or family's mailboxes. Customers can configure content and attachment filtering through an intuitive web-based Administrative interface. Filters can be created, altered, enhanced, neutralized or deleted. When a policy violation occurs, a silent copy of the violation can also be sent to an alternative email address (e.g., HR manager or parent).

Content:
Lists for profanity, racially insensitive terms, and sexual overtones are maintained based on the domain owners' requirements. Unlimited customized filters can be created and managed through the Administrative interface.

Attachment:
Manage attachment types and file sizes. Identification characteristics verify the actual type of attachment regardless of the file name extension - providing security against document spoofing. Over a dozen specific file types are available in the service, with the capacity for unlimited protection from specific attachment types. Custom attachment types can also be added.
